The Valley Sheltered Workshop was founded May 9th 1966, with four trainees assembling electric swiches for Furnas Electric.
It was founded by Rev. Gilbert Johnstone with the help of Earl Slogget, Robert Bina and area organizations.
The workshop was established as a non-profit private enterprise that would earn money and accept charitable donations.
Although times have changed the concept is the same we give physically and mentally handicapped adults a place to go to
work every day. We now have 14 trainees. By doing so they are a vital part of the community and have a sence of
accomplishment, as every one should have.
